Children are a handful, ages 3 and up could get you in a lot of mess if you don’t know what you are doing, That’s why people hire nannies, they are professionals, complete with training and the proper education and accreditation, that could help a family take care of their family needs. It’s an intimate and sacred thing to be welcomed into a family, even more so to be counted as part of the family. There are families who feel this way about their nannies, it’s a wonderful thing. But sometimes, emotions get misplaced and feelings are expressed too strongly or without a second thought to the consequences it could bring about.
Here is a list of nannies who outshined their celebrity employers. In the sense that the celebrity’s husband or partner gets blinded by too much shine from the nanny’s great job at taking care of their kids and the family, they’re too blind they forgot what they are and who they’re supposed to be with.
10. Christina El Moussa
What clear-cut sign tells you that something is going on between your husband and the nanny? If he buys her a car, you have to check on them. If he buys her a luxury car, then definitely check them out. Seems unreal, but that’s exactly what Christina’s now ex-husband Tarek El Moussa did for their nanny. According to reports, the gift was a white Lexus purchased at a Newport Beach Lexus dealership. Tarek posted everything, video and all, on Instagram.
Christina and Tarek star in their own show called Flip or Flop aired by HGTV. It’s a reality show for real estate agents and residential property. After the 2008 crash (the Great Recession) they started flipping homes. Flipping homes is when you buy distressed property and renovate it, then resell it. The couple got married in 2009 and were victims of the 7-year itch. They have two children, a boy and a girl named Brayden and Taylor. Christina went out with their contractor a few times but ended it and is now focused on work and the kids. Tarek admitted to dating the nanny for a while but claimed they are not going out anymore. Her name is Mossy and she’s still the kids’ nanny.
9. Gwen Stefani
Mindy Mann is an entrepreneur and owns and operates a daycare center called Pint Size Kids in Sherman Oaks, California. She’s Australian and lives with her son and boyfriend, Spencer Gutcheon. Not too long ago, Mindy also worked as a nanny. She spent three years, shared the lives of, and was part of the family, of power couple Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani. Gavin and Gwen were both rockstar vocalists in their nineties bands Bush and No Doubt. Mindy was with the family since 2008 when she started on a temporary basis but became a full-time nanny shortly afterward. She cared for the couple’s children to the satisfaction of Gwen, and to the delight of Gavin, apparently.
According to reports, the affair between Mann and Rossdale lasted three years. The revelation, evidence, and pictures of the affair led to Gwen divorcing Gavin in 2015. It was a devastating time for her because she tried to work it out even after the then-rumored affair for the sake of their three boys, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. All that seemed to be behind her now as she is happily dating Blake Shelton, her co-host in the hit show The Voice. 13 years of marriage and 3 beautiful boys, all shattered by a nanny, that’s really devastating.
8. Jennifer Garner
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were married for almost 12 years. Jennifer was most famous for her TV role as Sydney Bristow, CIA in the show Alias. Ben Affleck is this decade’s Batman and Bruce Wayne. They also played Marvel superheroes Elektra and Daredevil, their relationship apparently started growing there (or even as early as Pearl Harbor in 2001) and gave them 3 wonderful children. Samuel, Violet and Seraphina are their names. They ended their 12-year marriage in April 2017. Jennifer claims they were having issues with their relationship long before she knew about the affair and that it did not have anything to do with their decision to separate.
Ben Affleck has denied the affair, but a friend of the nanny says otherwise. Their nanny was Christine Ouzounian, who only worked with the family and been with the children for a few months. According to the friend, she and Affleck had an intimate relationship. Ben’s denial was shut down when years later Jennifer Garner confirmed the affair and added that she didn’t care much about it. She said they had problems in their relationship bigger than that, but it’s safe to say that she will never, ever employ the services of a nanny in her and her children’s lifetime.
7. Jerry Hall
It’s not like Mick Jagger to get down and dirty with the nanny, he’s one of the most popular faces of rock and roll. He is the frontman of one of the most famous and most influential rock bands in the history of music, The Rolling Stones. With fellow legend guitarist Keith Richards, they composed and released classic and iconic songs like Satisfaction, Paint It Black Angie, and Wild Horses. Mick Jagger was also branded as a playboy, addict, alcoholic, and lived the rock and roll lifestyle.
Jagger’s partner when this incident happened was then model Jerry Hall. Jerry was a famous model back in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and even had a few appearances on TV and film. She had 4 children with Jagger, James, Elizabeth, Gabriel, and Georgia. At the moment, she is married to 21st Century Fox media tycoon Rupert Murdoch.
This item is an exception to this list as it only happened one time as revealed by their nanny Claire Verity. But in all fairness to everyone else involved, Mick Jagger in the eighties was a sexy beast. Whatever he saw in the nanny he couldn’t resist.
6. Maria Shriver
Maria Shriver divorced Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2011. Before they met she was an author, having written 7 books, mostly with co-author Sandra Speidel. She was also an award-winning journalist, was a recipient of a Peabody Award in 1988. She also won 2 Emmy Awards as executive producer of the show The Alzheimer’s Project. She is also a Kennedy, her mom Eunice Kennedy (John, Robert, and Ted’s sister). At the moment, she can be seen in NBC News.
After being together for 25 years and having four children, the first was born in 1989, Maria ended the relationship and moved out of the house (mansion, we should say). Their four children are Katherine Eunice, Christina Maria, Patrick Arnold, and Christopher Sargent. Arnold was the Terminator and was the Governor of the great state of California, but he could not resist his long-time nanny and housemaid Mildred Baena. She had a son with Arnold, and they kept it from Maria. Upon getting the truth and the story from Arnold himself, Maria left and filed for divorce. Mildred and Arnold’s son is now 20 years old and his name is Terminator Baena, just kidding, his name is Joseph Baena.
5. Melanie B.
We all know her as Mel B, Scary Spice was her official Spice Girl name. A 5-girl group that took the whole world by storm, the Spice Girls were a phenomenal hit and everybody loved them. After riding the global success of Spice Girls, from 1994 to 1998, Mel released two albums of her own. Later, she would appear in films and TV shows, mostly as a judge in reality shows for singers and performers like X Factor and America’s Got Talent. She is currently a regular judge in the 13th season of America’s Got Talent.
She married Stephen Belafonte (film producer) in 2007. Theirs was a nasty and scary story. They hired a German nanny, Lorraine Gilles, in 2009 to care for their three children. Two of Mel’s (Phoenix and Angel) and one with Stephen (Madison), the nanny developed a special bond with the kids having stayed with them almost every day for years. Mel accused her of terminating a pregnancy with Stephen, reports also surfaced that Belafonte paid her a large sum of money to have an abortion. Then speculation grew that Lorraine’s supposed husband and marriage with someone else was fake and that it was all arranged by Belafonte. What a mess this was for Mel B., they finally got divorced at the end of the year 2017.
4. Nancy Jones
Nancy Jones was a producer who worked in one of the most popular TV game shows all over the world, Wheel Of Fortune. Before 2017 she was the producer who worked the longest for the show, having worked there from 1976 to 1995. She was a producer for 19 long years. But she was also known as Joe Piscopo’s wife of 15 years. They were together during Joe’s rise to fame with Saturday Night Live. Joe, or Joseph Charles John, Piscopo was a regular in SNL from 1980 to 1984. He started there as just a contract player but ended up as one of the most popular cast members that season. He survived the re-cast the next season with fellow castmate Eddie Murphy as the show went under new management.
Joe’s second wife was Kimberly Driscoll and they were together for nine years. You can say that Kimberly was a close friend of Joe and Nancy’s family, and even closer to their son Joey. That’s because she worked for them as a nanny when she was eighteen. Joe and Kimberly had three children together, Alexandra, Olivia, and Michael. Way to “outshine” someone, huh.
3. Sienna Miller
Sienna Miller is a beautiful actress, born in New York but grew up in London, with style and sophistication whenever people see her in public. She was such a big personality during the year 2003, more as a model than an actress, that she caught the eye of equally hot Jude Law. They made a movie together, Alfie, in 2004 and started seeing each other then. Both of them are single at the moment and focusing much of their time in their careers.
Jude Law was previously married to Sadie Frost and were together for 6 years. They have three children, Rafferty, Iris, and Rudy. After their divorce in 2003, Law and Miller met. They had a short relationship before getting engaged in December 2004. What’s more embarrassing than the public humiliation was the fact that Sienna found out about the affair in tabloids, just like any other person in the country. It was the nanny of Law’s children that broke their engagement, a woman named Daisy Wright. Wright came forward and revealed her tryst with Law in Britain’s Sunday Mirror. Apparently, the affair happened 3 months after the engagement. Sienna ended it and chalked it up to being naive and young.
2. Uma Thurman
Everybody knows her as the famous collaborator and co-creator of magnificent films with director Quentin Tarantino. She is The Bride. She is Beatrix Kiddo. She killed Bill. While she and Quentin were working their magic together making the Kill Bill films, something else was going on with her personal life. Her husband was Ethan Hawke, Ethan is a famous actor who’ve made memorable films like Training Day, Reality Bites, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, and the Before Sunrise trilogy.
While Uma was slashing bad guys with her sword, Ethan was having an affair with their nanny. The nanny was Ryan Shawhughes, an educated woman who graduated from Columbia University. Thurman and Hawke had 2 children together, Maya and Levon Roan. They were married for 7 years. Now Ethan is married to Ryan Shawhughes and they have two children as well, Clementine Jane, and Indiana. No one will ever understand what Ethan was thinking when he went behind Uma’s back. He’s just lucky he still has all his limbs, lucky Uma did not unleash her Hattori Hanzo sword on him. At the very least, Ethan and Ryan are still together, and seem to be happy with their life, Uma is busy with her career, making 4 films just this year and having a TV show coming up in 2019.
10. Valerie Velardi
Like Joe Piscopo and Ethan Hawke, Robin Williams ended up marrying the household help. But Williams is a story that one can say is a true love story, well, until it lasted. From the years 1978 to 1988, Williams was married to wife Valerie Velardi. He was nowhere near famous when he met Valerie, just tending bar somewhere in California. They had a son and named him Zachary Pym, they hired a nanny to care for young Zak, that nanny was Marsha Garces. Marsha was also Williams’ second wife. They got married in 1989 and had two children, Zelda, and Cody. They were married for 21 years, but she divorced him, thus ending their love story due to irreconcilable differences.
Marrying his son’s nanny aside, Robin Williams brought more joy to the world than any of these unfaithful celebs on this list. He was in fun and heartwarming films like Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Aladdin, Jumanji, Patch Adams, Happy Feet 1 & 2, and the Night At The Museum Trilogy. Things tend to fade over time, but what people need to atone for are the loved ones and people they hurt along the way. No amount of promises or money will do, actions are stronger than words. Robin Williams might just have done enough to atone for the people he hurt, rest in peace.
